Can not make a call

Power-off with sim card, reboot with sim card, can not make a call

Problem description:

  • - phone can not make a call
  • - phone power-off during an outgoing call
  • - phone reboot during a call
  • - phone show "no network" message

At first check band selection and your location, it may be that your network operator use 900/1800 band but phone accept only 850/1900 (or vice versa). If you are sure that band selection is not a problem - you have to think about hardware reason.

In most cases this kind of fault is a result of damaged hardware, but in some cases (f.e. for many Chinese Miracle models) it may be a result of damaged eeprom/ffs area.

How to check what is the problem reason:

  • remove sim card from phone
  • Power-On phone
  • make 112/emergency call
  • if phone can not make 112/emergency call (power-off during call, can not make a call, "no network" or other similar message displayed at phone LCD) this means you must repair phone hardware RF part (f.e. replace Power Amplifier a.k.a PA)
  • if phone can make 112/emergency call but can not make other calls it may be result of software problem, f.e.:
  • - imei is invalid: need to repair imei
  • - calibration data is damaged: need to restore factory default values (f.e. via "format ffs" operation)
